Connor O’Toole re-signs with Jets

Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce Connor O’Toole has extended his contract with the Club for a further two seasons.

“I’m really happy and can see myself cementing the left back spot here for the next few years,” O’Toole said.

“Deansy has given me a lot of confidence that the spot is mine to lose. I have found a home in Newcastle.

“There’s a positive vibe in the playing group which makes it very enjoyable coming into training every day. We have a good core of young players here.

“With Deansy locked in and players re-signing there’s a vision and ability and I believe we can go towards the top of the ladder.”

O'Toole

O’Toole joined the Jets via Brisbane last year, having made 31 appearances for the Roar following his A-League debut in November 2017.

According to Jets Football Manager, Joel Griffiths, the 23-year-old has made a seamless transition into the squad.

“After a tough stint in Brisbane, Connor has come to the Club with a great attitude and work ethic,” Griffiths said.

“He fits into Coach Craig Deans’ plans going forward and we feel he’s a vital part of what we are trying to build. He wants to improve and we feel Newcastle is the right place for him to do that.”

What’s even more pleasing for the Club, is O’Toole is only scratching the surface.

“There’s a lot to like about Connor,” Coach Craig Deans said.

“He’s a young player who wants to keep improving himself.

“He has a good attitude towards training and has a lot of improvement in him too. That’s exciting for us. While he’s doing well at the moment, he’s got a lot more in him which we’re looking forward to seeing.”
