The Newcastle Jets are proud to announce the members of the Club’s Fan Council – the club’s Fan Representative Group (FRG).
Ben Archer, William Baird, Emma Beletich, Linda Drummond, Rebecca DuBery, Grant Furner, David Keating, Samantha Mannix, Corey Solomons, Luke Welsman and Amanda Wetzel will make up the Jets Fan Council.
The newly formed group met recently for the first time to get to know one another, and establish a clear framework for the group to operate within moving forward, including the appointment of Amanda Wetzel to the role of Chair. Amanda will also represent Jets fans at the League-wide Fan Representative Group which will meet at the end of this month.
The Fan Council has been established as a collective voice for our fans and will meet at least three times throughout the season with the topics for discussion driven by the group members themselves with a view to presenting practical recommendations back to the Club. Minutes from the meetings will be shared between the club and the league, and published on official channels.
The Club received over 60 applications to be involved with the Fan Council and as a result, implemented a thorough and robust selection process, including an initial expression of interest, followed by a short survey to help identify fan types, which resulted in a shortlist of candidates with a diverse range of perspectives, priorities and values. The Club ultimately determined the final group members based on telephone interviews with the shortlisted candidates.
The Fan Council is keen to ensure it remains a collective fan voice and they have already been discussing ways of engaging with the wider fan base and looks forward to providing an update on this shortly.
