The Newcastle Jets have confirmed the last of their pre-season fixtures as they prepare for the 2018/19 Hyundai A-League season, taking on the Edgeworth Eagles on Saturday 22 September.

The NPL Northern NSW Premiers will host the Jets at Jack McLaughlin Oval, kicking off at 12pm.

Both sides will also use the friendly fixture as an opportunity to collectively support the Australian farming community, raising much-needed funds for those worst hit by drought.

Entry to the match will be $5 with proceeds to support those doing it tough in rural communities, and anyone attending the game is also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation.

Jets CEO, Lawrie McKinna said the club wanted to support the recent fundraising efforts of the Eagles.

“Edgeworth have already donated well in excess of $15,000 to nearby farming communities and collected countless food items that have been donated to families in need,” McKinna said.

“When Warren Mills (Edgeworth Treasurer) made the suggestion, we didn’t hesitate to throw our support behind such a worthy cause.

“As a club we’ll be getting right behind this and next weekend’s friendly is the perfect way to raise money and show our support to our farming community.”

Tickets to the friendly will be available for purchase at the gate for $5.
