Newcastle Jets wish to farewell and congratulate Tessa Tamplin on securing an opportunity overseas.
The W-League defender had a breakout season for the Jets in 2020/21 culminating in her winning the Jets Rising Star award at the end of year presentation night.
A Jets junior who has progressed through the Academy ranks through to the first team, Tamplin has represented Australia at U-16 and U-20 level.
W-League coach Ash Wilson admits while it’s disappointing to lose a local player of Tamplin’s ability, the opportunity she has overseas is too good to turn down.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for Tessa to continue to grow and mature as a player,” Wilson said.
“She has worked hard over the years in the Academy and W-League and I’m sure she will make the most of this great experience and new challenge.
“I’m proud of her achievements and the way she has represented the Newcastle Jets and I look forward to seeing how her football journey evolves.”
