Newcastle Jets are pleased to announce the signing of workhorse midfielder Cameron Devlin for the next two A-League seasons.

The 23-year-old, who was named today as an Olyroos Olympic train on squad member, is an exciting addition to the squad, adding defensive steel and attacking finesse to the centre of the park.

Jets Manager, Arthur Papas said; “Cameron has established himself over the last two seasons as one of the A-League’s premier midfielders, so having him commit to the Newcastle Jets is a clear statement about the direction we are heading.

“Cameron fits the profile both on and off the field that we were looking to attract and I’ve got no doubt we have secured a player with the capabilities to play at the highest levels.”

Devlin made his A-League debut in 2018 with Sydney FC where he made 7 appearances before moving to Wellington.

He played 44 games for Phoenix, taking his total A-League games to 51.

Devlin said he’s excited to make the move to the Jets and play an exciting brand of football under Papas.

“I’ve watched some of the team’s Arthur has coached over the years and he plays an attractive style,” Devlin said.

“To play attacking, brave football supporters want to watch is exciting.

“The move to Newcastle is a new challenge for me but one I’m eager for and as a one town team, I look forward to bringing the fans back. That’s a strong goal of mine.”

Devlin is contracted for at least the 2021/22 and 2022/23 A-League seasons.
