Ben Kantarovski is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks after undergoing an arthroscopy on his right knee on Thursday.

Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets midfielder Ben Kantarovski is expected to be sidelined for up to six weeks after undergoing an arthroscopy on his right knee on Thursday.

Kantarovski injured the knee in the Jets- Round 15 clash with Melbourne Heart at AAMI Park.

“Ben has had an arthroscopy on his right knee to clean up some loose cartilage he had in his knee,” Jets physiotherapist Rob Dingle explained.

“His surgeon was happy with the outcome and Ben will require around six weeks on the sidelines to complete his rehabilitation.

“Although he was back in training and feeling confident in his knee, the specialist felt this was his best option to decrease the risk of further damage to his knee.

“The exact recovery time for Ben will be guided by how his knee responds in the first few weeks of his rehabilitation.”
