A boxing fan, Ali Abbas joined several Newcastle athletes on Friday in an opportunity to meet Australian light-middleweight Tim Tszyu.
Tszyu, 26, is fighting in Newcastle on March 31 against Dennis Hogan and has moved his training camp to the Hunter ahead of the bout.
Along with Knights duo Kalyn Ponga and Lachlan Fitzgibbon, surfer Philippa Anderson joined Abbas and Tszyu for photos and to share stories.
Abbas and Tszyu chatted for a while before the football came out and Tszyu showcased some of his skills with the ball, having played as a junior.
