Newcastle Jets scholarship player, Jack Simmons has been selected in Trevor Morgan’s 20-player Joeys squad for an upcoming youth tournament in Turkey.
A collection Australia’s best youth footballers will travel to Antalya in March for matches against the host nation (4 March), Tanzania (6 March), and Guinea (8 March).

The friendly tournament will provide the Joeys with crucial matches and time together ahead of October’s 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru.
Simmons selection follows strong performances in the Club’s youth system via the Foxtel National Youth League and Northern New South Wales NPL.
The midfielder also boasts experience abroad, representing the Jets at the Weifang Cup and Hong Kong Soccer Sevens at youth level.
The Jets Academy product also saw game time with the first in China during the pre-season – scoring against Shanghai Shenhua.
Simmons has also been included in Friday’s match day squad to face City and is in the mix for a senior debut.
Australia is the only nation outside of UEFA and CAF to receive an invitation to the preparatory tournament in Turkey. The tournament will also feature teams from Morocco, Cameroon, Uganda, Montenegro, Senegal, Angola, Nigeria, and Belarus.
