Newcastle Jets defender Nikolai Topor-Stanley joined SEN radio earlier in the week to discuss his career, changes at the club and what the future holds.
Here’s a snippet of some of the best talking points:
UNBEATEN IN FIVE MATCHES
“Recent results have gone our way,” he said.
“It’s only early. We’re still not satisfied. We’re just mid-table and we aspire to be further up there. There’s plenty of hard work still to come.”
DURABILITY
“The wonderful support staff manage me well,” he said.
“They work me hard but not over the top. They’ve got me in that sweet spot.”
COACH DEANS
“We have a leader, not an interim leader,” Topor-Stanley said.
FUTURE
At 35 and off-contract, Topor-Stanley said thoughts of retirement isn’t something on his radar right now.
“I’m feeling good physically and mentally. As long as I’m wanted and feeling good physically and mentally,” he said of his career.
