Our Westfield W-League side face a big trip across the Nullarbor this weekend, to take on an in-form Perth Glory side.
Led by Aussie superstar, Sam Kerr, Glory are unbeaten so far in 2018/19 with two wins and three draws.

Here are five things to think about ahead of Saturday night’s 10pm (AEDT) kickoff.
Changing shapes
The shift to three at the back looked a positive one last weekend, despite the end result.
It allowed the likes of Taylor Smith and Gema Simon to get up the line and look dangerous on the flanks, which in turn gave more space to those attacking players in the middle of the park.
With another week on the training paddock fine-tuning things, expect the side to look even better come Saturday night.
Deadly Kerr
When you think of Perth, there’s one woman who stands above the rest: Sam Kerr.
She showed Newcastle just what she was capable of at McDonald Jones Stadium last season when she bagged a hat-trick in Round 8 last season.
Coach, Craig Deans knows what she’s capable of and signalled as much in the post-match press conference after the loss to City.
Gilly a go?
She was a late scratching last weekend, but this weekend could see American midfielder Arin Wright back in the squad.
It was a minor hamstring strain which coach, Craig Deans didn’t want to risk becoming something bigger.
There’s every chance she’ll be on the plane to Perth this weekend, and if she’s fit she’ll play a big part in the hunt for three points.
Climbing the ladder
Although the side is currently in eighth position, the congested nature of the Westfield W-League ladder means there’s not much between the bottom and the top.
On six points currently, the Jets could jump as high as second with a win on Saturday.
Although goal difference means that’s an unlikely prospect, three points would still propel Newcastle well and truly up the ladder.
A maiden win in the West
Since the opening season of the Westfield W-League, the Jets have travelled across to Perth a total of nine times.
Of those nine times, we’ve played out five stalemates but are yet to strike that killer blow and return to Newcastle with three points.
The women have scored in every match they’ve played so far this season, so there’ll definitely be goals.
