5. The club record appearance holder and in his eleventh year at the club, Broadmeadow Magic junior and midfielder Ben Kantarovski is undeniably a Newcastle Jets legend. In a career which has been hampered by troublesome knee injuries, Kantarovski has still carved out a reputation as one of the Jets’ best and most consistent players. With more than 150 appearances for the club to his name, Kantarovski has solidified his place in the centre of the midfield but is equally adept at doing a job in defence. The highlight of his time so far with the Newcastle Jets could well be his Player of the Year award back in 2008/09 season at age 17, or helping lead the Jets to a second ever championship decider in 2017/18. Kantarovski made his professional debut with the Jets on 15 August 2008 in a 1-1 draw with Central Coast Mariners. At the time, it made him the youngest player in Hyundai A-League history.
