Defender Johnny Koutroumbis
- Height 183cm
- Weight 73kg
- D.O.B. 6/3/98
18. An NPL South Australia player who was given a shot in the top flight, Johnny Koutroumbis is a versatile player whose stocks are steadily rising in Newcastle.
Initially signed as an injury replacement from West Adelaide as an 18-year-old back in 2016, Koutroumbis has flitted between the defence and the midfield during his time with the club.
The highlight of his time so far at the Newcastle Jets would be his Goal of the Month winner back in December 2017: a strike from outside the box to opening the scoring against Western Sydney.
Koutroumbis made his professional debut for the Newcastle Jets back in 29 October 2016, in a 2-0 loss to Sydney FC and has since become a pivotal figure in the squad roster.
Mostly being deployed in a back three defensive line, along with Nigel Boogaard and Nikolai Topor-Stanley, Koutroumbis offers pace and clinical challenges down his preferred right channel.
